SVdP Food Pantry

Your time and compassion have the power to feed families and strengthen our community. At the Holy Redeemer Saint Vincent de Paul (SVdP) Food Pantry, we are dedicated to providing nourishment with dignity, and we rely on the hearts and hands of volunteers like you to make that happen.

Whether you prefer direct interaction with our clients or the behind-the-scenes work that keeps our shelves full, there is a place for you here.

Current Volunteer Opportunities

🛍️ Client Support (Pantry Service)

Our pantry is designed as a "shopping" experience. As a client support volunteer, you will guide families through the pantry, helping them select food items while offering a welcoming, supportive presence.

• Schedule: Wednesdays and Sundays (2:15pm shift begins) 2:30 pm – 4:00 pm (4:15pm shift ends). 

• Commitment: Most volunteers are assigned to a team that serves once every four weeks.

• Substitutes: We also welcome on-call substitutes for Wednesdays and Saturdays.

📦 Operations & Stocking (Behind the Scenes)

Help us prepare for the week by managing incoming deliveries.

• Mondays (8:30 am – 12:00 pm): Help process deliveries from the Oregon Food Bank, pick up items (trucks and van drivers needed!), stocking shelves, and/or organizing our storage room.

• Tuesdays or Thursdays (8:30 am – 12:00 pm): Assist with deliveries from the Birch Community pick up items (trucks and van drivers needed!), weighing food boxes, and/or organizing inventory in the refrigerator and pantry shelves.

• Flexible Shopping Hours: Help shop and deliver additional items from Winco, Costco, and/or Restaurant Depot.
  

Specialized Leadership Roles

We are currently seeking dedicated individuals to take on key leadership positions to help our ministry grow and thrive.

Grant Writer

Help secure the future of our pantry! We are looking for a detail-oriented individual to research, draft, and submit grant applications to secure the funding needed to continue our essential services. This work can be completed remotely with flexible hours to fit your schedule.

Important Notes

Minors: We love welcoming youth volunteers! Please note that a parent or guardian must accompany any volunteer who is a minor at all times, and the parent/guardian must also complete the onboarding steps.
